Out of curiosity, what does your husband's son think about it? Did the son wish to be involved in the sports his mother signed him up for? How would the son feel if he couldn't be involved with the sports because of the visitation issue? Is there any way to work it out so that the son doesn't have to give up the sports?

I hope all of you could work this out. I know how frustrating it can become for a child as well as the adults involved. My oldest child has given up quite a few summer and/or weekend events to be able to visit with my ex. These sacrifices are starting to wear thin, I believe, because my child talked my ex into only a partial summer visit this year. There were several events that meant a lot to my child, so my ex compromised. He didn't really like it. However, he agreed it wasn't fair to force my child to sacrifice yet some more summer events due to the visitation schedule.

Oh, boy...can it be a chore to discuss schedules! My ex and I make it a point to talk a few times a month regarding upcoming events like birthdays, school events, sports events, and recently...dates my child has! (Oh, goodness... my child is dating!) Anyway, if your husband and his ex could make it a point to touch base about these things (and also start consulting the son about what matters to him), perhaps they could learn to become flexible. We've learned that a flexible schedule and a give-and-take relationship can be beneficial to all involved.

Good luck! Stay safe and Blessed Be!

Chloe =)
